CLINICAL APPROACH

  Stiff shoulder

A stiff shoulder where 12 million people complain of symptoms. Many people have trouble with stiff shoulders, including "poor posture, eyestrain, weakness around the shoulders, reduced range of motion of the scapula, stress, and poor blood circulation." The true nature of stiff shoulders is "a state in which muscles are tense and do not move + waste is not discharged." A strong massage on a tense muscle will break and damage the muscle membrane. As the damaged tissue heals, the muscles become stiffer and create tension. In other words, poor massage will make stiff shoulders worse. First of all, blood circulation is promoted and symptoms are alleviated just by turning the arm around to eliminate lack of exercise.

If it's painful anyway, it may be necessary to relieve it with a treatment. Even if you say stiff shoulders, the part is different for each person. The approach method differs depending on each case. The shoulder is a part that can be moved at various angles by maintaining tension between several muscles. In order to reduce the pain of the client, it is necessary to inspect each muscle while changing the angle of the arm, without treating it as stiff shoulders.

Some stiff shoulders are caused by illness. Cervical-shoulder-arm syndrome is said to occur when a specific part of the body, from the shoulder to the fingers, is continuously moved, such as by repeating the same work. Periarthritis of the shoulder is generally referred to as "forty shoulders" or "fifty shoulders". It is thought to occur when the bones, ligaments, and tendons that make up the shoulder joints age and become inflamed. With cervical spondylosis, the cervical spine (seven bones that make up the neck) and the intervertebral discs between the bones of the cervical spine are deformed due to aging, causing pain in the neck and shoulders. It refers to illness. Cervical disc hernia is a disease in which part of the disc between the seven bones that make up the cervical spine for some reason pops out of its correct position.

Stiff shoulders may appear as a symptom of physical illnesses such as menopausal disorders, tension headaches, abnormal blood pressure, angina pectoris and myocardial infarction, as well as joint and muscular illnesses.

When stress is applied to study, work, relationships, etc., the balance between the autonomic nerves, the sympathetic nerve and the parasympathetic nerve, is lost. If this happens, you may not be able to adjust your body well, and you may experience physical symptoms such as stiff shoulders and mental symptoms such as irritability and emotional instability.
